If this is such a good idea, why do they have to bribe people?

If the health care bill passed by the senate on Saturday was such a good idea, why did Harry Reid have to bribe members of his own party to vote for it? So the circus that is the democrat health care agenda moves yet another step forward based on payoffs, bribes , and intimidation. Wow , imagine if this was something they wanted to play hardball with?

I read a colum by Rich Galen tonight,  and wanted to share with you the key point:

“Reid and Obama Administration officials relied on the time honored method (used by Republicans and Democrats) of getting recalcitrant Members to vote a certain way: Bribery which, in the real world, is a felony but in Washington it is called “hardball.”

 *   In Sen. Landrieu’s case the bribe was $300 million in Medicaid benefits to Louisiana.

 *   It’s not even a close call. According to the website “Total Criminal Defense,”

Bribery is an attempt to influence another person’s actions, usually a government or public official employee, by offering a benefit in exchange for the desired decision.

 *   Three hundred million in return for a vote to proceed. If walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck …”

So now all the senators know how desperate the administration is to pass this. It is worth $300 million a vote.  And this is supposed to save the country money?  Sounds to me like it is personal crusade of this administration no matter what the cost to the American public. God forbid Obama should fail to get his agenda passed. This is just so sad.
